In the past, I was determined to start my business, even got a business license. So the update on that? Haven’t done shit with it yet. I didn’t know jack shit about what it took to start one, or even how I should even proceed. I wanted to make films. Have I made one yet? No. I’m still working on writing the scripts. It’s been 2 years, and I haven’t done shit.
I’m still thinking of going into business, and starting up the cafe to be a venue for my movies. Yeah, still working on that one. THIS TIME, I’m at least trying to make a business plan. The issue now, is that I have no idea how to get these damn numbers and figure estimates. Who the fuck do I talk to about this? I’d gotten advice before to walk around the area, and ask similar people in the same business on advice with what they’ve done, and what works. The most practical advice I’d ever gotten was from the owner of the Alternative Cafe, on things I’d have to look out for (business licenses, municipal ordinances, etc…). He was awesome!
The other advice they gave me, was to talk to a commercial real estate agent. THAT, I haven’t done. My only fear at this point, is whether or not they’ll charge me for the amount of time they spent on asking them for consultation advice, or would they only charge me for making the final deal? Hm… I’m hoping it’s the latter. This is the only way I can think of at this point, to actually get a more accurate picture of how much I’d have to spend, and how much to estimate. Either case, I’m gonna’ try to make an appointment with the Chamber of Commerce and hope for the best.
