The worsening differences in society isn’t just a phenomenon relegated to the cities, it’s being felt in the rural areas as well, a study reports. Especially in areas where “outsiders” are in clashes with locals. Choi Dae-Soo has the report:
Nowadays, finding a very expensive apartment just like those in the city, isn’t as hard as it used to be. It’s becoming a common place for urbanites to have a little vacation, as a weekend resort. How are the local residents taking this?
Within the Village ___ Salvation, 500 participants were asked, and the results show that 6 out of every 10 people think that there’s a major disparity being felt. 2 of 3 people said that there was a disparity from a low income standpoint. Low income annual revenue is rated at 21million Won, which 60% of the people here can’t even reach. So the rich land owners and retired urbanites who move here are regarded as rich.
“Because of the giant disparity between the people from different income levels, there tends to be a communication gap. They [the locals] view rural development as something that is cruel.”
This clearly shows the extremity between low and high income families, seems to be a sign that the rural areas are not longer able to prevent as well.

우리 사회의 양극화가 도시뿐만 아니라 농촌에서도 심각하다는 조사가 나왔습니다. 특히 외지인 박탈감이 지적됐습니다. 최대수가 보도 기자입니다.
이제 우리 농촌에서도 마을 집과 다른 고급 전환 주택을 어렵게 찾을 수가 없습니다. 대부분 사람들이 가끔 쉬기 위해 들르는 주말 별장입니다. 이런 현실을 주민은 어떻게 받아 드릴까?
농촌 영지영 구원이 은면 주민들이 500명 대상으로 물었습니다. 결과는 주거 수준에서 양그화를 느낀다는 답한 사람이 10명 가운데 6명 꼴입니다. 소득 수준에서도 양극화가 있다는 답변이 조사 대상에 3분의 2로 이룹니다. 연 평균 소득은 2천 백만원 가량, 응답자의 60%정도는 미치지 못합니다. 이렇다 보니 이들에게 부동산 부자나 도시에서 이사해 온 은퇴자들은 고 소득층으로 간주 됩니다.
“수준 차때문에 서로 의사소통이 안 되고 그럼으로써 그 잔인적인 농촌에서 발전에 서서… 그 ____화게 작용하게 됩니다.”
이번 조사 결과는 양극화가 도시뿐만 아니라 농촌에서도 더이상 방치할 수 없는 무늬라는 것은 보여 줍니다.
